The beginning of spring is synonymous with starting fresh. It is an ideal time for cleansing, getting rid of the old, and welcoming the new. We at Akasha feel this is a wonderful time to reflect on – and embrace – the possibilities inherent in new beginnings. It is an opportunity to set new intentions, to be mindful and aware of the areas in your life that you would like to change, and to experience a higher level of physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Sometimes identifying the areas you want to change is an easy task. You may know that you want to adopt a more whole-foods, plant-based diet, or that you want to exercise more regularly. However, the real challenge is not identifying what needs to change, but in actually making change happen – and being consistent about those changes even after the inspiration of Spring has faded.
Other times, though, recognizing those things in your life that need special attention can be a formidable challenge. As you go through your day, or your week, you may sense that something in your life is not quite on track, but you can’t put your finger on the problem.
Taking the time to reflect on different areas of your life – such as diet, exercise, physical health, relationships, stress, and home environment – can help you recognize the very things that need the most attention. You may find that relatively minor adjustments, such as decluttering a room in your house or getting a new plant, can have a significant effect. You might also find that more dramatic changes are in order, such as making a career change or leaving a toxic relationship.
Set aside some time to take an ‘inventory’ of your life, to check in with yourself. Talk with your partner or your close friends, meditate, or journal. Ask yourself if you are feeling fulfilled and living the life you want. Our physicians and practitioners at Akasha are here to assist you with this process. We can help you assess each area of your life and support you as you take the steps that lead to positive, lasting changes.
