Integrative Pain Management
“Chronic pain is not all about the body, and it’s not all about the brain – it’s everything. Target everything. Take back your life.”
~ Pain & the Brain by Stanford’s

Take Your Life Back with Akasha’s Integrative Approach to Pain Management
Don’t let chronic, ongoing pain continue to disrupt your life. Integrative doctors at Akasha consider your whole being—physical, mental, and emotional and offer numerous mind-body techniques to cope with, ease, or eliminate your pain.
At one time or another, we all have experienced physical, sometimes debilitating pain, and nothing in all of human experience disrupts life more than chronic pain. When we hurt, we want effective and consistent relief as quickly as possible without impacting our ability to think, act and move well.
But, sadly, usually, modern only treats the symptom, not the cause. Considering the ever-growing burden of chronic pain, it is clear that current models of care used for managing and treating pain are often ineffective in addressing the root cause of the clinical problem. Since chronic pain is complex and best conceptualized in a bio-psycho-social framework, Akasha believes it is best addressed by integrating different treatment approaches.
And that’s where integrative therapies come in. Intending to create a comprehensive picture of your condition, habits, and ongoing needs, Akasha’s integrative pain management program offers a wealth of traditional and evidence-based, non-invasive options for dealing with chronic pain. We begin by conducting a comprehensive assessment of your pain via an in-depth physical and psychological examination to devise an integrative approach – with you as a health partner – consisting of a physical assessment, nutritional assessment, and personalized lab tests to reduce or eliminate your pain. Employing innovative and traditional evidenced-based approaches such as PRP, prolotherapy, acoustic wave, acupuncture, physical therapy, massage therapy, naturopathic injections, and more, we help you take back your life, so you can get back to work and enjoy the things you love.

Anyone living with chronic pain would benefit from this service. We help patients with all sorts of medical conditions from arthritis, back pain, neuropathic pain, and even pain with psychosocial components.
The timeline for benefit from an Integrative Pain Management program varies greatly depending on the type and cause of pain. Often, the solution includes lifelong lifestyle changes to maintain the benefit.
There are no magic wands to cure chronic pain. However, studies have shown that pain is not debilitating to people who know how to use their mind-body connection. The goal of our program is not to erase all pain, but rather to optimize the health of the pain generator (nerves, muscles, ligaments, fascia, tendons, bones), provide mechanisms for reducing the pain, and help our clients to take the driver’s seat to leap over the obstacle of pain.
Patients should be ready and open to changing their lifestyle before starting Integrative Pain Management services at the Akasha Center. Patients who are dedicated to improving their health and embrace treatments fully see the best results.
The cost of this comprehensive service is $1250. This includes your initial assessment with Dr. Bren Boston and three one hour treatments with either physical therapist Danél Lombard, acupuncturist and Chinese medical doctor Yi Qiao or somatic therapist Kevin Kunkel depending on your specific treatment plan.
