Certified Nutritionist

Sabrina is a certified nutritionist, lactation educator, First Line Therapist practitioner, and an activist for food diversity, sustainability, and the environment. She completed a Nutritional Medicine Program at The American University of Complementary Medicine in 2005, where she studied under Diana Noland, MPH, RD, CCN, LD. DIFM, who was on the Faculty of the Institute for Functional Medicine.

In 2007 Sabrina completed her Lactation Educator training at UCLA. Sabrina has additional training and certification in Blood Chemistry Analysis, Functional Endocrinology, Applying Advanced Nutritional Strategies for Autoimmune Diseases, Mastering Brain Chemistry, Understanding Gluten sensitivity, and Leaky Gut. These training modules were sponsored by the University of Bridgeport and taught by Dr.Datis Kharrazian. DHSc, DC, MS, Ph.D. in 2007.

Additionally, Sabrina completed certifications on Applying Personalized Lifestyle Medicine, Understanding the Origins, and Applying Advanced Nutritional Strategies for Autoimmune Diseases taught by Jeffrey Bland, Ph.D., in 2008.

In 2010, Sabrina worked for a government-funded nutritional program designed to safeguard the health of low-income families. There she was able to share her passion for breastfeeding, advocated food as medicine, and made a positive impact on a disadvantaged population who had been targeted by unhealthy food marketing.

In 2015, Sabrina worked as the lead practitioner at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, where she consulted and trained other healthcare practitioners. Sabrina has also been a certified member of the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs since 2016. She is grateful to be working at the Akasha Center and be able to collaborate with Dr. de Mello.

Sabrina is a mother of two, an active member of The Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States, and a student at the Mahamudra Kadampa Buddhist Center.
