Dr. Ney takes the time to understand each of her patients from multiple perspectives: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, genetically and environmentally. She understands how the interaction of diet, stress, hormonal changes, unhealthy digestion and a build-up of toxins affect a woman’s body and the aging process. By combining a thorough history, physical exam and the appropriate laboratory tests, she partners with her patients to develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses the root cause of health imbalances. Working closely with her patients, her tailored treatment plans may include dietary changes, lifestyle modification, herbal medicine, nutrient therapy, homeopathy and bio-identical hormones. Dr. Ney treats the whole person-not just the disease- and provides the tools needed for the body to achieve long-term optimal health. She is committed to helping her patients obtain their goals and experience life without the limitations often set by disease.
Her interest in naturopathic medicine is grounded in the belief that a physician should treat the cause of a symptom—not just the symptom itself. She views symptoms as clues to the body’s underlying health imbalances and seeks to understand why the symptoms are present. In line with the core principles of naturopathic medicine, Dr. Ney believes that the body is inherently healthy and self-regulating. Once obstacles to health are identified and removed and the body is given appropriate support and nourishment, optimal health can be obtained.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Macalester College, she received her naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, the nation’s leading naturopathic medical school. Dr. Ney has seen first hand the effectiveness of natural therapies in getting to the root cause of gynecological conditions.
Dr. Ney is a member of both the California Naturopathic Doctors Association and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is on the editorial review board of helpguide.org, founder of Chic Wellness health blog and is a frequent lecturer on women’s healthcare issues.
