Dr. Kudzai Dombo, MD, is a distinguished board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist renowned for her profound commitment to women’s health and global health advocacy. Born in the United States and raised in both Rochester, New York, and Harare, Zimbabwe, Dr. Dombo’s upbringing in these diverse environments deeply influenced her approach to medicine, giving her a unique cross-cultural perspective. Her initial inspiration to pursue a medical career stemmed from her experiences working in her father’s internal medicine practice in Harare, where she observed firsthand the respect and impact her father had on his patients, particularly at a time when women’s voices in Zimbabwe were often marginalized.

Determined to forge a path in healthcare, Dr. Dombo pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, followed by a Doctor of Medicine from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She completed her residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Today, Dr. Dombo is a faculty member at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Throughout the early 2000s, Dr. Dombo envisioned a career that transcended national borders, seeking to understand the nuances of how women across different cultures experience childbirth, menopause, and various life transitions. This vision has taken her around the world, working with Doctors Without Borders and other NGOs in nations like Sri Lanka, Cambodia, El Salvador, South Africa, and Haiti, where she has been a staunch advocate for women at every stage of life.
